The Intuition of Education opened in 1993. It offers the one-year B.Ed. programme to train students to the teachers of secondary schools and the one-year M. Ed programme to prepare aser of teachers.This was done in the context of education with special reference to-

(i) Islamisation of knowledge and developing a systematic & effective program for the integrated growth of the individual.
(ii)Improving the skills of teacher educator, educational and educational administrators executing effective methods in presenting value-based knowledge and
(iii) Improving Language Proficiency.

The pragmatic approach to teaching-learning processes of practice teaching in schools is the vital aspect of the B.Ed (Pass) and (Hons) programs (which was later introduced) of the Institution. In October 1994 the Institution of Education launched its one-year M.Ed teaching program for the study of educational theory from both religious and liberal points of views and study on
(i) Comparative education ,
(ii) Educational research,
(iii) Islamic philosophy of education
(iv) Theories and Practices of curriculums development.

In 1999 a three year B.Ed (Hons) program was launched by the Institute of Education .The University Grants Commission approved a received curriculum of B.Ed(Hons) on 16 August 2001.It is worth mentioning here that the institute of Education was renamed as Department of Education in 2001 under the Faculty of Human Science.As all the three-year Honors course of the public and private universities have been converted into a four-year Honors course in 2002 the Department of Education also introduced the four year B.Ed(Hons) Course instead of a three-year B.Ed(Hons) course.

Location and Facilities:

At present Institute of Education are housed House # 21,Road #9/A,(New) Dhanmondi, Dhaka-1209 which is located in a most convenient, easily accessible place to come from all parts of Dhaka City. This building is elegant and furnished with modern fittings. Library, reading room are located in this building with modern teaching and laboratory facilities required to run high-standard academic and research programs.Course contents are similar to those of National University and the Institute of Education and Receachar, Dhaka University. The institute of Education have the following features:

Medium of Instruction: The medium of instruction for all academic programs in the Institute of Education in Bangle.

Teaching Staff: The teaching staff of the faculty may be of the following categories:

1. Regular Teaching Staff: Full time Regular teaching staff members in the rank of Professors, Associate Professors, Assistant Professors and Lecturers are appointed by the Vice-chancellor as per recommendations of the Selection Committee, with the Syndicate approval.

2. Adjunct Teachers: Academicians, trainers of professional institutes and professionals of various educational establishments with appropriate teaching and training experience are invited to teach different courses of the Department on honorarium basis. They are considered adjunct faculty members.

3. Visiting Teachers: Visiting Teachers are drawn from renowned Institutions and Universities both at home and abroad on exchange and contract basis for a fixed term.

Student's intake in the Undergraduate course: Students are usually admitted both in the spring and Fall semesters.
